Friday August 1, 2008
It's hot outside, but the happenings this month are even hotter. Rub shoulders with some of hip hop's brightest stars during So So Def Summerfest 2008, or enjoy live music and cold brews while supporting an important cause at Sweetwater Brewery's Rock Against Cancer Benefit. Taste the flavors of summer at Food 101 with a special one night only menu inspired by the hit film Mamma Mia!, or catch the season's final free park concert by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. And don't forget to check out the stage production of "Crimes of the Heart" at The Rosewater Theatre in Roswell.

Ryan Seacrest Attacked by Shark

Tuesday July 29, 2008
Ryan SeacrestAtlanta native Ryan Seacrest had a run in with a shark last Saturday while swimming off the California coast. According to E! Online, Seacrest was bitten on the foot by a very small shark.

Small shark? As someone with an immobilizing fear of sharks, I consider this an oxymoron.

Look on the bright side, Ryan. This encounter should make Simon’s bite seem a lot less painful in comparison.
